Hey long time no see!
 I quite left this place rotting a bit ..sorry! Spent the last months working hard on different projects, and my showreel.
Time for an update with my most recent design done for a short, and some character explorations I did a month ago for a tv series. Hopefully I'll be able to show you the final designs soon enough.

First snowball of 2014

Hey everyone ! Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been pretty busy working on CG projects ( The Rabbids amusement park show not to name it ) and let the place dusty ,

So I wish to all of you a very happy new year, may it be better than the last one, filled with good health, hope, love and all those good intents that are never too much. 

And as a new year comes in, and despite the lack of snow where I'm staying right now, I got some seasonal inspiration ! Enjoy it and thanks for following my work in 2013 , hope I'll make it better this year ,

This one is a bit rough but I'm starting working on an iPad + Wacom stylus combo , and stuff like Procreate .
 I must say I'm quite impressed though it's taking me some practice to handle it as easily as my usual workflow. And add some nice challenges like the  layers limited to only 7... Helps focusing on painting rather than PS tricks !Back to practicing

 Anyways examples of what I could see around here. I guess I'm one of them anyway, and I'm dealing with it !

A tribute .. The Barber

After months of CG work, sketching and a very huge inspiration lack ( or should I say, this kind of emotionnaly-procrastinating- art block stuff ) , it seems  life events, and  especially the wonderful exhibition of Devin Crane's work at Gallery Arludik in Paris, brought back my will, inspiration . The flame is back !

So as a tribute to the wonderful fashion-meets-cartoon art of the talented Mr Crane, here is one of two pictures I've been working on, as my own take on sexy cartoon fashion-inspired artwork, and as some kind of tribute. Thanks for bringing back the passion ! 

Btw if you're in Paris, go check that exhibition before it's over . Sutnning paintings, sketches , and especially that HUGE wonderful painting of his ;

Awake- 2012, Digital

Been away quite a long time .. but I got many new things to put up here ( just need some more time to scan, edit etc) . Until then, cheating a lot by posting something from last summer.
It's not my style to speak about myself, and I won't do any different this time. But that's a more personnal piece I've done.
Recent events just made me want to pin this piece somewhere, look at it, and move on to something new. And bright I hope! No intentions to be whining or such. I guess that's just the way things goes, people entering , crossing or leaving your life and taking the most of it surely is a key.

La vie part un peu dans tout les sens de mon côté. D'où mon irrégularité sur ce blog. Malgré cet ascenseur émotionnel proche d'un grand 8 , j'ai eu le plaisir de terminer cette collab' avec Antoine Poyard !

Sexy Jambon !?!?

Two days ago I had the good surprise to find that most of the flux coming to my blog came from a nice article about me !

But, I also made a very, very, very disturbing discovery ... 

Some of the google search that led people to my blog was ... " Sexy Ham" ( "sexy jambon" in french)

It made me laughed hard!

Because I couldn't see the link between sexy ham & my art, it felt very disturbing , and I mentally pictured it in a way that was stucked in my mind for days ...

Finally, I decided that people WOULD reach my blog by asking google about sexy ham.. for a good reason!

Il y a quelques jours j'ai eu la très bonne surprise de découvrir qu'une partie du traffic redirigé vers mon blog venait d'un article sympa sur moi et mon travail ( enfin plutôt sur mon travail, c'est plus intéressant !) 

Je n'étais pas du tout au courant et ca m'a a la fois surpris et gêné ( mais en bien .. enfin .. c'est vraiment super !). Voilà un lien vers l'article sur Graphiste-world.com

Et comme une surprise ne vient pas seule, j'ai aussi découvert qu'une recherche sacrément louche avait emmener quelques personnes ici .... " Jambon sexy"

Je sais pas si le plus dérangeant c'est "jambon" ou le fait qu'il soit sexy ... !!

Toujours est il que ca m'a bien fait marré, et j'ai décidé de donner une bonne raison à cette recherche Google d'aboutir ici !

Wanted to try new brushes, and go for something "color script"-like but not satisfied with it yet. May add two more at the end. Later I guess!  At least limited color palette works well. Took me more time than expected, I will have to train way more!

Classique mais efficace !

Une occasion de tester de nouvelles brushes et d'essayer une suite d'image un peu du genre "color script", mais pas encore convaincu par le résultat. Peut-être que j'ajouterais deux images pour clôturer cette série, mais pas de suite, je bloque sur une idée ! La palette très réduite de couleurs marche plutôt bien, et c'est dejà pas mal. Même si ca m'a pris tellement plus longtemps que j’espérais. Je vais devoir m’entraîner beaucoup plus!

At least , holidays! Don't know how long it'll last, but though I'm searching for job it doesn't feel back to get some time for myself. Not really sketching or anything at the moment, still trying to figure out how to get a decent room for work now that i'm back at my parent's.... haaa, I hate feeling like a teenager! So for now enjoy these sunny dudes!

Just a small picture I had in mind for a few days. Didn't want to spend to much time on it and finally must have used a couple hours. I didn't really know what I was going at at first, just wanted a sorta black & white atmosphere and that guy in water. The water turned out not as bad as I thought .

Juste une petite image que j'avais en tête depuis quelques jours. Je n'y ai accordé que peu de temps sans trop savoir ce que ca allait donner au départ. Je voulais juste une ambiance type noir & blanc, et ce type dans une piscine ( ou juste de l'eau). L'eau rend vraiment mieux que ce a quoi je m'attendais. 


A dans quelques jours, après avoir fini le boulot de saison, les cartons, le déménagements etc ....

This time, my take on Asajj Ventress . It's not the exact design since I've had a hard time getting same looking reference , so I did my own mix.
Got more trouble to capture her than Maul, and I guess I do prefer the first half anyway !

Vu qu'aucune de mes images de références ne se ressemblaient, j'ai pris le parti de faire un mix, désolé pour les fans des designs originaux/officiels & co.

Elle m'a donné plus de mal que dark maul la bougresse, et je pense que je me suis plus éclaté sur le défi 1, mais bon , c'est fait et j'en suis pas mécontent ! Enfin une nana pas sexy et sympa sur mon blog, Hurray!

Star Wars #1/2

Hey everyone, I've been quite busy lately with my graduation movie ( yeah i GRADUATED HHAHAHAH), then went on to my summer job as a waiter and haven't even scan all my illustrations and sketch of the year yet.

Last weeks have been lacking illustrations and sketch quite a bit, until my friend antoine challenged me to see my take on two famous Star Wars characters.

I've never really been a fanart guy, nor a star wars geek( sorry about that) but it's giving me plenty of fun, driving me out of my comfort zone. 

I recommend you to try those kind of forced challenged once in a while. 

First one he chooses is Dark Maul. I allowed myself to get a more skin-revelant outfit of his, the tatts being so enjoyable to draw.

Next one in progress will be Ventress, you'll see it soon enough I hope!

Hey ! J'ai été pas mal débordé ces derniers temps, entre le film de diplôme ( et oui je suis DIPLOME hahaha ) et mon job saisonnier,et du coup pas encore de scans de tout mes sketchs fait dans l'année ou de quelques illus à l'aqurelle que je trouve pas trop mal.

Les dernières semaines ont été très pauvres en illustrations et croquis, un leger manque d'inspi après une année de prod'. Jusqu'à ce que mon pote Antoine ne me défi de pondre ma vision de deux personnages emblématiques de Star Wars.

Je n'ai jamais été ni un grand fan de fanart ni de Star Wars (désolé pour ca !) mais sortir de ma zone de comfort, du rétro et des pinups est très loin d'être désagréable!

Un truc à faire de temps en temps pour se changer ce genre de challenge!

Le premier imposé est Dark Maul. Je me suis choisi la version avec le moins de drapés bizarres mais avec le plus exposé tant qu'à faire. En plus les tatouages sont sérieusement sympa à faire.

Le suivant sera Ventress, en esperant que je l'acheverai assez vite!

Up & Portfolio

Hey everyone!
 I've been really busy the last two months, but I can now say our graduation movie is done!  A full year of work is coming to a nice end, and in a few hours the whole team is leaving for northern France, to our graduation jury ! So excited !


This will be a quick update to annouce I'll be back soon with a post nearly every two-three days, new pics , loads of sketches I've not scan yet! But for now let me show tell you my portfolio is finally done too! Right in time !

Salut à tous!


J'ai été pas mal occupé ces deux derniers mois, mais je peux maintenant dire que notre film de diplôme est fini! Une année complète de travail qui se conclu d'une manière plutôt sympa, and dans quelques heures toute l'équipe sera sur le départ pour Valenciennes pour notre jury de fin d'étude!
L'excitation monte!


Ce sera juste une update rapidre pour annoncer que je vais remettre ce blog à jour, avec j'espère bien, une illus tout les deux -trois jours, pas mal de sketchs en retard à scanner, et divers trucs que je compte faire!
