Explosive Brotherhood

Then .. BOOM!

 

Don't ask me why , but it seems these days i'm in a explosive-stuff mood , and just need to do plain background and things getting blown out ! 

Been busy with CG shorts and stuff , and editing my 2010-11 demoreel (soon , soon) and didn't had much time to draw anything .Finally I spent some spare time on this piece from P*UP storyline showcasing two previously seen characters : Loretta and her brother Seamon. Don't trust them . They are the cause of pink ( ??) explosions ! 

 Comme il semblerait que j'ai un besoin immédiat d'explosions en tout genre sur fond de désert et de décor peu élaboré ... en voilà un.

Un peu occupé avec les courts métrages , finir mon demoreel et peu de temps pour dessiner . Mais j'ai réussi a terminer cette pièce basée sur P*UP mettant en avant deux personnages postés récemment : Loretta et son frère Seamon . Et une explosion rose . Oui.

Initially started as a floating head , and a model like girl , and turned into explosion , mercenaries and movie ad composition . FUN!
Thanx to my teammate William   for giving me the idea of turning the flying head girl into some Hi-tech spy device !

Cars & Chicks

 SOME CARS and LOTS OF CHICKS

Don't get me wrong, it ain't chicks on cars, or riding cars yet . And it has nothing to do with Pixar's Cars 2 ( which I'm not really waiting for ... not being a car- vehicle - mechanic fanboy ).

Giving the blog a bit of love with recent sketches , and things I forgot to post !Enjoy!

 Et pas des nanas sur des bagnoles ou conduisant des bagnoles non plus. Et rien à voir avec Cars 2 le prochain Pixar ( que je n'attend pas du tout , n'étant pas le genre à être fan de voiture, de caustiques , de carpaint et autres joyeusetés .. alors le tout mélangé à du james bond et de la compét.. mouais) 

Juste un dépouissérage du blog , faute de mieux , avec quelques sketches ( de nana) , et des trucs pas encore posté ici . Ô Joie!

THE ONE CAST

What started as a simple break from my work turned into a full cast board from my P*UP storyline. Really unexpected . I've been fooling around with the main characters for months , trying to keep the inital style ( style which triggered a huge style change for me) and at the same time twisting it to my current mood and drawn lines. Finally this popped out of my head . I'm really glad with it . I may have fixed the characters at least . Decided to throw some color on 'em.

Ce qui avait démarré comme un simple break et échauffement s'est transformé en planche complète du casting de mon projet P*UP. Assez innattendu . Après des mois d'essais, afin de conserver le style de départ ( qui avait été un vrai déclic chez moi) et l'adapter à ce qu'il est devenu à l'heure actuel, je pense avoir mis la main dessus . Du moins pour l'instant .  J'en suis assez satisfait et je n'ai pas resisté à l'envie d'y mettre une base de couleur , histoire de .

- P. : The bounty hunter extraordinaire. The blond chick you've seen in older illustration.

- L. aka Loretta : Her everlasting information seeker . Currently a low-rank secretary .

- Seamon : P.'s roommate and also  partner in crime . Loretta's older bro.

-J. : Ex-partner , now freelance bounty hunter. 

- B.B : coming from abroad , she's P nemesis . Nothing personal darling , just work.

 OLD FASHIONED LOCKER ROOM

Background visual concept , done for my thesis project proposal . It'll surely not make it in the final project , but it was good to give it a try ! Style is heavily inspired by visual dev artists @disney/pixar and Kevin dart's backgrounds .  Of course , roller derby gal is here only for scale sake . Of course ...

Voila un visuel de décor , en guise d'exemple pour le dossier de projet de diplôme. Il ne restera surement pas dans le projet définitif  donc le voila ! Le style de décor est carrément inspiré des visual artists de pixar/disney , et des décors de kevin Dart . Bien sûr la nana en roller est là uniquement pour l'échelle. Ca va de soit ...
